European Open Science Cloud Symposium 2022
National Contact Person for Research Infrastructures (Horizon Europe Office Georgia), concurrently Deputy Director of the Institute for Scientific and Technical Information TECHINFORMI - Dr. Marina Razmadze participated in the European Open Science Cloud Symposium - EOSC Symposium2022 in November 14-17, 2022 which took place in Prague, Czech Republic. More than 400 representatives of the leading European organizations such as CERN, FAO, ELEXIR, OpenAIRE, RDA, EOSC Future Platform including the ministers of education and science of the Czech Republic, Sweden, France and other representatives, European Commissioners of the different areas of the Horizon Europe framework program attended and contributed to the event.
Dr. Marina Razmadze gave a presentation entitled “OS & EOSC – Achievements and Future Insights. Experience of Georgia” on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the Institute TECHINFORMI which focused on the steps taken by Georgia to promote and popularize open science, and on the progress made in the context of integrating the country's scientific organizations with the European Open Science Cloud.
Particular attention was paid to the establishment of Horizon Europe's National Office in Georgia, the building of a successful structure, and the results achieved over the last year. The presentation also summarized the outcomes of the tripartite meeting with the EOSC Association held in Georgia in November 2-4, 2022, and an introduction of the future national strategy to the EOSC Association and the EOSC Steering Board.
Dr. Marina Razmadze also participated in the panel discussion with the representatives of Greece and Slovenia, which was chaired by the head of the EOSC Steering Board - Mr. Volker Beckmann.
