Horizon Europe Info Day at East European University
On July 9, East European University hosted a Horizon Europe Information Day. The objective of the meeting was to provide the university's academic staff, researchers, and interested persons with a detailed introduction to the program's ongoing calls and challenges.
The meeting was opened with welcoming remarks by David Cherkezishvili, Rector of East European University. He emphasized the importance of integrating Georgia's scientific potential into international grant projects and the active involvement of universities.
Within the framework of the meeting, National Contact Points provided the attendees with detailed information across various areas:
🔹 Cluster 2 (Culture, Creativity, Inclusive Society): Tamar Berberashvili discussed the priorities and ongoing challenges of this direction in detail.
🔹 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA): Teona Maisuradze spoke about the funding mechanisms for postdoctoral research, doctoral networks, and joint doctoral programs.
🔹 Innovative Europe - 2026 Challenges: Ana Goletiani introduced the attendees to the new funding opportunities available in this direction.
The meeting was conducted in an interactive format. The attendees received exhaustive answers to the raised issues, such as the formation of international consortiums and the specifics of the involvement of Georgian researchers and institutions in it, strategies for finding European partners, and strengthening Georgia's role in the global scientific ecosystem.
